Innovative strawberry ideas

17:04:20 28th April 2008

Gardening enthusiasts who are eager to grow their own produce but do not have the space to do so need not despair, it has been asserted.

Online resource the Sunday Mail explains that fruits such as strawberries will grow very well in a hanging basket or container, meaning that people who do not have enough room to create a full-scale vegetable patch can still grow them.

The site suggests that horticulturalists purchase strawberry barrels with hole in the sides so that the fruit can be planted in both the sides and top, noting that this will allow the fruit to hang down.

"Remember to water, feed and protect them from the birds with a net," the online resource concludes.

In related news, news source Country Life recently reported that people are increasingly taking the opportunity to grow their own food, leading to the volume of vegetable seeds being sold soaring.
