RHS to host spicy garden and greenhouse show

13:06:20 12th June 2009

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts are being invited to the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, which takes place from July 7th to 12th.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) explained a theme of growing your own curry has emerged ahead of the event, which focuses on cultivating food.

It will feature some of the world's spiciest chillies, as well as hyacinth beans and garlic.

A total of 14 specialist growers will be displaying and selling their produce, with many opting for hotter varieties, such as the Dorset Naga chilli.

The show will have a Beans and Herbs display, featuring Indian and Mediterranean cookery herbs like ajwain and coriander.

For the less spice-loving horticulture fans, the Cookoo Box Nursery will contain a number of fruits, vegetables, herbs and salads to cool the palate.

Meanwhile the RHS is set to host a beekeeping open weekend at its Harlow Carr site on June 13th and 14th.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19216448-ADNFCR
