Garden Wisley to host Berrylicious Weekend

15:07:20 15th July 2009

Garden and greenhouse lovers with an interest in growing fruit might wish to head to the Royal Horticultural Society's (RHS) Garden Wisley this coming weekend.

On July 18th and 19th, the site will host an event focusing on berries, with tips on cultivating, foraging, cooking and serving the soft perishables available.

Experts and novices alike will be catered for by the RHS staff and attendees will be able to see demonstrations and take part in tasting sessions to help decide what they want to grow in their own garden or greenhouse.

Kids might enjoy the flower pot painting, which takes place from 10:00 until 16:00 BST.

The Berrylicious Weekend is the second event to take place as part of the RHS Grow Your Own Campaign and attendees will be encouraged to make good use of coldframes, glasshouses and anything else at their disposal to cultivate food at home.

Meanwhile, the gardening body recently revealed it has appointed three new vice-presidents, one of whom is renowned horticulturalist Alan Tichmarsh.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19266736-ADNFCR
