RHS Garden Rosemoor invites food exhibitors

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts who grow their own food are being invited to an event at the Royal Horticultural Society‘s (RHS) Garden Rosemoor.

The site in Devon‘s Great Torrington is to host its inaugural Local Produce Show on August 22nd and 23rd and is looking for exhibitors.

Both adult and child growers are able to enter their fruit and vegetables into the show, where they will have a chance of winning a host of prizes.

Aside from those mentioned above, classes will also be available and include flowers, homemade baking, preserves, wine, cider and juice.

Children will be asked to create cress heads, vegetable animals and sunflower heads.

Entries can be made right up until the day of the show and those wishing to take part should contact RHS Garden Rosemoor directly.

“This is the first time we have held an event like this and it‘s great to be supporting the local community,” explained event supervisor Diana Gilding, who promised a “great weekend”.

In other news, the RHS recently welcomed the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs‘ decision to hold a study into sustainable food production.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19318898-ADNFCR
