Greenhouse enthusiast might be interested to learn that parents and pupils at the Great Missenden Church of England School joined together in an effort to prepare for the harvest-themed market they are hosting in the school garden.
Parents were asked to join in as part of the Royal Horticultural Society's (RHS) Get Your Grown-ups Growing initiative, which is aimed at encouraging more adults to develop school gardens to be used by schools and the wider community.
Gardening coordinator Victoria Greaves told the Buckinghamshire Advertiser the school has been involved in the campaign aimed at transforming food culture in schools for the past two years and a half years. The school is one of only 13 institutions to have been given a gold award for its work.
"We thought it would be good to combine the Get Your Grown-ups Growing event with it to get the parents involved – now all the things they've grown will be on display," she added.
According to recent research from the RHS, nearly half of parents in the UK admit their children know more about gardening than themselves.
