Othery Garden Club to host Question Time

Greenhouse enthusiasts might be interested to learn that the Othery Garden Club in Somerset is due to host BBC Radio Four's Gardeners' Question Time next month

The announcement that the society will host Question Time marks an incredible rise for its members, who formed the club just two years ago.

Panellists will include Matthew Biggs, Anne Swithinbanks, Chris Beardshaw and Toby Buckland at the Othery village hall on November 15th.

Pupils from Othery and Middlezoy primary schools will provide help throughout the day and are set to join a number of other people from the community, as they try to pull out all the stops for their visitors.

Founder of the club Jo Taylor told the Bridgwater Mercury she is hoping this event will help raise the profile of the town.

"We try to get a variety of speakers to our informal meetings and we hope this event will put this part of Somerset on the map," she added.

Last month the Gardeners' Question Time tour was cancelled due to a lack of interested in the ailing show.ADNFCR-16000279-ID-800773528-ADNFCR
