RHS awarded first edition book to recognise partnership

Greenhouse enthusiasts might be interested to hear that the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has been gifted a first edition of the book Les Jardins de L'Avenir by Achille Duchene to recognise the friendship between the RHS and the Loire Valley Gardens Association in France.

The book was presented to RHS president Elizabeth Banks at a workshop attended by the 11 owners of Loire Valley gardens. The session provided a chance for gardeners to meet local tourist boards and the media to promote Loire as a must-visit region.

Ms Banks said upon receiving the gift: "I am very grateful on behalf of the RHS to receive such a special book, which will be a fabulous addition to the RHS library."

Owner of Villandry chateau and gardens Henri Carvallo said the main asset of the Loire gardens was that each patch is in harmony with its surroundings.

Loire Valley is one of the four main regions in the west of France, alongside Brittany, Normandy and Western Loire.ADNFCR-16000279-ID-800778256-ADNFCR
