Yorkshire park regeneration will maintain greenhouse

Plans to regenerate an area of parkland in Yorkshire will incorporate the retention of its greenhouse, it has been revealed.

Using funds secured through the Big Lottery, a community action group is looking to make sure Graves Park can be preserved and enjoyed by future generations of local residents.

The Friends of Graves Park are planning to invest thousands of pounds to improve the site and to make sure the newly-refurbished greenhouse at Norton Nursery is well-kept and properly utilised.

Writing to the South Yorkshire Star recently, Alan Beer made clear his support for the project.

In reference to the greenhouse, he said: “The Green Fingers Project is based here and makes an important contribution to the park.

“Its retention also opens up large possibilities for this area of the park.”

Sheffield Botanical Gardens recently secured the services Ian Turner, who has turned his hand to local horticultural projects after working at the Paignton Zoo for over a decade.
