With February now long gone, now is a good time to start growing peppers either in the greenhouse or on a warm windowsill.
Peppers, chillies and aubergines should initially be grown under glass in 7.5cm pots filled with seed compost, according to the BBC.
A few seeds should be scattered over the surface before being covered with a thin layer of vermiculite.
Placing a clear plastic bag over the top of the pot and securing it with a rubber band will help retain heat and moisture.
Seedlings should be given their own 7.5cm pot when they reach around two cm tall and a 12cm pot when their roots begin to poke through the drainage holes.
As the plants grow, they should be given a cane to help them climb and the tops should be pinched to make new branches.
By May, the plants should be large enough to put into five-litre pots and transplanted outside to a warm, sunny spot.
Seeds sown in March should begin producing harvestable produce between July and October.
