Couple set up garden and greenhouse blog

A horticulture blog has been set up by a couple of garden and greenhouse enthusiasts in Chipping Norton, it has been revealed.

The Oxford Times recently explored the allotment around which copywritersallotment.wordpress.com is based.

It noted how Joy and David McCarthy started the blog to help other growers through advice and records of their experiences.

“We‘ve already started to include some tips and suggestions on dealing with problems such as slugs and caterpillars, but we make no secret of the fact we‘re rookies when it comes to gardening on this scale,” Mrs McCarthy told the newspaper.

The couple are both copywriters and tend to their fruit and vegetables in their spare time.

Their harvests have included beetroots, broad beans, Brussels sprouts and French beans.

According to the most recent entry, the recent good weather has helped boost the progress of the McCarthys‘ courgettes and runners.

Meanwhile, Harrogate is set to host its three-day Autumn Flower Show, which begins today (September 18th).ADNFCR-1495-ID-19368671-ADNFCR
