The recent wet weather may be good for giving your plants a good soak, but the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has warned that it could be bad news for garden and greenhouse fans.
With heavy rain come slugs and snails, which are more than happy to munch on many plants.
According to the experts, they have been dormant during the dry weather, but have come out in force recently.
The RHS explained that hosta plants are particularly vulnerable, but that there are a number of steps that can be taken against the little pests.
Those who have used nematodes should add more to the soil as the dry period would have killed them.
Meanwhile, copper tapes around pots or egg shells sprinkled around plants help keep slugs and snails away.
Slug pellets containing ferric phosphate or metaldehyde can also be used to get rid of the problem.
Meanwhile, the RHS recently revealed that it is displaying a piece of the apple tree that Sir Isaac Newton used in his gravity experiments.
