Use vertical space in a tiny garden, expert says

Utilising the vertical space available is the key to maximising the growing potential of a tiny outside plot, an expert has suggested.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, Francine Raymond said growing plants against walls and on shelves can ensure they move in the right direction for a particular space.

Ms Raymond added that a bird feeder can also fit in a small spot but can become an oasis for wildlife very quickly.

Also important is limiting the architectural elements in a garden and focusing instead on "really good products with integrity", she stated, adding: "Distance can't lend enchantment in a tiny garden."

Finally, make full use of bulbs in a small space, using pots that can be moved around or through ground cover, the expert concluded.
