Greenhouse enthusiasts warned to protect garden contents

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts have been encouraged to take steps to protect their outdoor items.

The summer is a time when many Brits invest in their garden and often leave objects of value in the open, but Cheshire Building Society has suggested homeowners check their insurance documents to make sure they are protected from theft and damage.

“Many people automatically assume they‘re covered when they take a policy out, but this isn‘t always the case and it can leave people feeling hugely let down by their insurance providers if their claim is not met in full or, worse still, declined,” explained product manager Karen Torson.

She added the peace of mind would help horticulturalists enjoy their summer safe in the knowledge their plants and garden furniture would be replaced, should the worst happen.

The comments echo similar warnings from other insurance providers, including Saga and Halifax, that have warned the warmer months are often an active period for green-fingered thieves.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19205239-ADNFCR
