Garden Wisley to host Dame Kiri Te Kanawa


Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts planning on attending the Royal Horticultural Society‘s (RHS) Wisley Music Festival will get to see Dame Kiri Te Kanawa in action.

The soprano singer is set to appear at the attraction‘s annual event, which runs from June 10th to 12th 2010.

Dame Kiri, who was a celebrated and decorated recording artist before she even turned 20, will take to the stage on the opening night of the three-day event.

She will sing songs from Bernstein‘s West Side Story, as well as classical tunes from Der Rosenkavalier, Tosca and others.

The Kiwi star has performed around the globe, gracing the stage of some of the world‘s most renowned opera houses.

The RHS is offering Gold Circle tickets for the first time in 2010, granting music lovers prime views of the stage, as well as a lakeside picnic area.

A number of tribute acts are also set to appear, with the rest of the line-up yet to be announced.

RHS Wisley is currently hosting a spectacular lights display, with its plants, gardens and greenhouses illuminated in a range of vibrant colours until January 3rd.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19521706-ADNFCR
