Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts will soon be able to take even more inspiration from the Batsford Arboretum in Gloucestershire.
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) revealed that its recommended garden is set to undergo a £2 million investment programme.
Already considered one of the best botanical sites in the UK, the attraction is set to expand its land by three hectares and add more than 500 new plants to its collection.
The arboretum has been inspiring growers for more than a century and is well known for its Acers, Magnolias, Prunus and other Asian woodland plantings.
As part of the expansion plans, the site is set to extend its national collection of Japanese Prunus and increase the number of Acer cultivars it grows.
Some endangered trees will also be planted in an attempt to help sustain their numbers.
Examples include the Golden Vietnamese cypress Xanthocyparis vietnamensis.
Meanwhile, an RHS expert recently helped secure the future of what is thought to be the world‘s smallest water lily.
