National Gardening Show kicks off this Friday

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts will be heading to the historic city of Bath this week to attend one of the UK's premier horticultural events.

The National Gardening Show takes place at the Bath & West Showground for the 14th consecutive year.

Beginning on Friday (September 3rd), the three-day occasion will see some of the county's top growers battle it out for dominance.

As well as displays of flowers, there will also be a fine exhibition of tasty fruits and vegetables and numerous experts, including some of TV fame, on hand to distribute hints and tips.

The event hosts the annual National Dalia Show, which takes place in the Showering Pavilion, while the Scarecrow Competition in the woodlands area is always popular with younger guests.

Entertainment for the kids extends to the animal and poultry show, which is bound to bring a smile to youngsters' faces.

Those who love to grow their own food could head to the National Giant Vegetable Competition, which always draws a good crowd and its fair share of media attention.

Meanwhile, the Royal Horticultural Society has revealed that tickets are now on sale for its Autumn Harvest Show.ADNFCR-1495-ID-800046384-ADNFCR
