The Royal Horticultural Society's (RHS) Garden Harlow Carr celebrates its diamond anniversary this year, having been founded 60 years ago.
To mark the occasion, it ran Diamond Quest – a competition where garden and greenhouse fans could compete to win a half-carat, brilliant cut diamond worth £2,500.
Yorkshire resident Zoe Palmer-Smith won the contest, which was entered by 766 botany enthusiasts – 318 of whom got the answer right.
Entrants had been asked to follow a series of clues that eventually led to the Geoffrey Smith memorial statue along Streamside.
Those who got the answer right had their names put into a hat and a draw took place on November 29th in front of the Harlow Carr staff.
Head of the site Liz Thwaite and curator Elizabeth Balmforth drew Ms Palmer-Smith's name from the 318-strong pile and the lucky winner will now receive the special prize from Yorkshire jewellery designer Andrew Geoghegan.
"The diamond is a stunning half-carat brilliant cut with a Gemological Institute of America certificate. The colour of the stone is G and the clarity is VS2 – a truly beautiful stone," the expert revealed.
In other news, Gardeners' Question Time is being recorded at RHS Lindley Hall this week.
